Cup Draw News (10/04/2016)

No doubt Ringmahon will be out for revenge so a huge performance is required from our lads if they wish to advance to the clubs first ever appearance in an FAI Youth Cup Final. Meanwhile Fairview Rangers will face holders Clonmel Town in the Munster Youth Cup Final as the Limerick side defeated Villa FC 2-1 in the semi final in Limerick today! The Youths travel to Limerick next Sunday to take on the might of Fairview Rangers in the Munster Youth Cup Semi Final. As of Sunday the venue is yet to be confirmed but it is thought that this game will be played in the of Pike Rovers Football Club which is down for a 2pm kick off. This should be an exciting encounter. The Youths season is coming along nicely so we would urge supporters to get up and support the boys. Best of luck to the team and management.

FAI Schoolboy Emerging Talent
The FAI are extending the Regional ETP this season to the U13 & U14 age groups. The regional centres will be run during school holidays, the first is being held during next weeks half term break. The thinking behind this is that the FAI want the better players coming together at an earlier age. Next season this will be extended to the U12 age group. For next weeks sessions the following Clonmel Town players have been selected, U14 Sam Dwyer & Ross Gavin. There is only one other player from our league. U13 Kyle Cuddy & Cathal Berrigan. A total of 5 from the TSSDL were picked. Well done lads.

Bad Weekend For The Club
It was a bad weekend overall for both Junior sides as the A team went down 2-0 to St Michaels in Cooke Park on Sunday afternoon. Town conceded two goals early on and failed to recover from that setback. St Michaels also had the cushion of a missed penalty and Town had appeals of their own when a defender was adjudged to have handled on the line but it was waved away by the referee to the amazement of the Town players which resulted in two sendings off, one on and off the field for Town. The B team were also defeated 3-1 by Moyglass in the League, no report from that game at the time of writing.
